Beginning February 21 and for the next 4 consecutive we will be having Soup, salad and desert at 5:45 before our 7 pm service. Come and enjoy the fellowship, food and spiritual refreshing from Eyes On Jesus 2024 Lenten theme! O come, let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God. (Gradual for Lent, based on Hebrews 12:2) When the characters in the Passion narrative look at Jesus, […]

Stroll into Bethlehem and be met by the Census Taker, the Shepherds, Soldiers and Tax collector. King Herod makes an appearance as well, as he “desires to worship this new-born king!” Walk through Bethlehem marketplace to take in the sights of this busy city. After all this walking, see if there is any room for you at the inn! Perhaps you’ll meet new ‘friends’ on this journey as you find the long awaited ‘Hope of the World’ where you’d least suspect!  This wonderful family event is presented by Ascension Lutheran Church in Daphne, Alabama. This is our 4th year, and […]

Promised Treasures:  This Lenten season, we have a fresh opportunity to embrace God’s amazing love for us, His baptized children, in new ways. St. Paul clearly says that “faith comes from hearing” (Romans 10:17), but the Gospel is also communicated through the physical senses of sight, smell, touch, and taste. Jesus mentions that a good teacher not only brings out new treasures but reminds people of old and rich treasures as well (see Matthew 13:52). So each Wednesday in Lent, we will take a weekly journey to concretely see, smell, touch, and taste a number of biblical elements. Our Lenten […]

Welcome to the sights and sounds of Bethlehem as we could imagine the hustle and bustle of a small town in the midst of Roman occupation and census taking. The young couple, heavy with child, find no room at the inn and had to settle for a manger – the feeding trough for animals! Ther are animals, an interactive market place and more!  Come check out this free event December 7 and 8, 4 pm -7 pm… We hope you enjoy your time here!

Our Church and Christian community is privileged to be a part of the 500th anniversary of the worldwide Reformation begun in 1517 when Martin Luther nailed the 95 Theses to the Wittenberg church door.  And bringing the church back to the Bible alone to determine doctrine and life was what Martin Luther had in mind. The Gospel of Jesus Christ had been overlooked and sometimes non-existent for hundreds of years. The re-discovery that […]
